Lissette Exposito, RN, BSN, MHSA
President, Chairman
Lissette began her career as an orthopedic nurse at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida. As a utilization and quality assurance coordinator, she quickly learned the necessity of improving quality of care by decreasing unnecessary healthcare utilization; at the hospital, this meant ensuring medically appropriate lengths of stay, improving quality documentation, providing patient education, and effective discharge planning. In 1990, Lissette embarked on the home health industry in South Florida, which was then notorious for its improper use, first serving as a field nurse to later become director of patient services at one of the largest home health companies in the region. With an entrepreneurial passion for placing the patient first, Lissette launched her own home health agency in 1999, MediPro Home Health Services, Inc., which not only sought to increase quality of care for its patients but also to establish a supportive care team environment by working closely with physician practices on preventive initiatives including patient self-management, social work, and transitional care from hospital or other post-acute settings.
Through her commitments to quality healthcare, Lissette has continued to establish other successful ACOs in other states that share the same goals of empowering the patient and physician to make the right choices, believing that understanding and establishing strong ties with each of these communities and their patients is essential in the dawn of integrative medicine. As such, Lissette serves as a member of the University of Miami’s Citizens Board where she was honored with the Sebastian's Up & Comer award in 2015-2016. She is also a member of the University of Miami's SONHS Visiting Committee as well as the Dean's Advisory Committee, serves on University of Miami's Alumni Board of Directors, and is the primary donor to the Lissette M. Exposito Home Health Suite at University of Miami School of Nursing’s Simulation Hospital.
